I was born in
northern Arizona, in a Navajo Indian hospital. My father
managed a trading post selling and trading Navajo and Hopi
Indian made goods. For a long time I thought I was Navajo.
At the beginning of WWII and the opening of the Corpus Christi
Navel Base my dad started a business in Corpus Christi and moved
the family. II wanted
to continue to study art in college and attended the Kansas City
Art Institute. For seventeen years I worked as a fashion
illustrator for newspaper advertising but my fine art
career was detoured by marriage and family duties. After
retiring from a career in education I poured myself into my art.
