TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The majority of the work is painted on either cotton canvas, linen, or wooden panels. The canvas or linen is treated in
the traditional manner, using several coats of acrylic gesso. If an oil primer is needed, the support is treated with either
pva sizing or hide glue before applying a primer of either titanium white or lead white.
If wood panel supports are used, they are usually made of masonite. The masonite is first sanded, and then given three
or four coats of a traditional gesso mix made of hide glue and powdered marble, or calcium carbonate. The last layer is
usually sealed with shellac thinned with denatured alcohol, or a weakened solution of liquin or some other alkyd medium.
The color palette used has been chosen with permanence in mind and are of the best quality painting materials available.
