Kyle Polzin
Kyle Polzin was born in Cuero, Texas in 1974.
His family moved to Victoria in 1975 where he grew up working
closely with his father to develop his artistic skills.
Craftsmanship is something that is not uncommon in the Polzin
family. Both of his grandfathers were skilled craftsmen, and
today grandfather Leon Polzin continues to produce stained glass
creations that are in high demand.
Kyle attended public schools, graduating from
Victoria High School. In 1992 he entered Victoria College
and began his formal training in the fine arts with emphasis on
oil painting under the instruction of Larry Shook. He
continued studying under the guidance of Mr. Shook until
1995. Today Kyle credits his personal motivation and desire
for continued learning to the teaching and guidance he received
from Mr. Shook. Kyle state, "Mr. Shook's devotion to his
students and demand for personal discipline and commitment
prepared me for a career in the field of painting.
After graduating from Victoria College, Kyle
had numerous opportunities to continue his learning experience.
In 1996 he participated in instructional sessions under Master
Painter Dalhart Windberg. This highly motivational learning
experience helped launch Kyle's career to the level it is today.
Kyle currently lives in
Austin, Texas with his
wife, Leigh, and daughter, Kate.
