Kate Prejean
I have always been drawn to the
Earth. It has been a constant that I have acknowledged and taken with me.
Working in clay is a continuance of that. I enjoy taking forms that have a utility and creating a new use for
them. The delicate forms I use take strength and stability from those around
them. This is much like an ideal society in which community is fostered. I make
sculpture to communicate the beauty that I see in the world. I am in constant
awe of the world and its inhabitants that surround me and draw great
inspiration from it.
I have a BFA from Stephen F. Austin
with a focus in ceramics and a minor in printmaking. I have been living in Port
Aransas for the last two years with my husband and cats. I surf, sew, mosaic,
garden, and travel in my spare time.
